AZ — AT A GLANCE
SO LONG TO SAN DIEGO
Mavis McLynn wasn’t sure about moving to Arizona from her
home and friends in San Diego. But her husband, Gregg
Moss, convinced her to take a look at Victory at Verrado, a
stunning 55+ enclave tucked against the White Tank Mountains west of Phoenix. Says Mavis, “The desert flora just
took my breath away; its beauty was indescribable. And we
purchased on our first visit.” Amenities at Victory include a
private clubhouse, three pools, tennis, and a new golf course
set to open in January 2017.
PUTTING DOWN ROOTS
After years of touring every corner of North America in their
well-appointed mobile home, Don and Judy Wideman finally
decided to put down retirement roots in Arizona. Or at least
partial roots, as they spend summers in their native Edmonton,
Alberta, Canada. According to Don, “In Arizona we’ve found a
place we daydream about when not there. We enjoy countless
friendships, a caring staff and a manageable cost of living.”
The Widemans live in Las Palmas Grand, a Thesman Community in Mesa, just east of Phoenix.
