Long Branch General Store Now Open
The road sign outside says it’s the corner of Long Branch Road and Camp Creek Road, but everything inside the new
Long Branch General Store says that this is now the inviting
intersection of food, fun and good times!
For countless years through our nation’s history, a community’s general store was the center of commerce and the favored
spot for gathering with friends and neighbors. And so it is now
with this happy hub overlooking Camp Lake that opened its
doors to warmly welcome residents and visitors to enter and
enjoy all its relaxing and rewarding pleasures.
Two recent ceremonies marked the completion of the General
Store and officially signaled its much-anticipated arrival to life
at Long Branch Lakes. On August 20, project vendors, property
owners, developers and friends gathered at the store for a festive
celebration dinner served by its kitchen team. After dinner, all
eyes watched with excitement as the project’s builder passed
a hefty ring of ceremonial antique keys into the hands of the
developers, who accepted on behalf of the community.
On September 25, over 150 well-wishers gathered just
beyond the store’s front porch, a wide yellow ribbon was cut
by Herbert P. Davis, Mayor of Van Buren County, and the
Long Branch Lakes General Store grand opening festivities
began. At tables beneath soaring beamed ceilings and on the
large screened rear porch overlooking Camp Lake, attendees
were treated to the General Store’s first official lunch.
The General Store lives up to its name with a thoughtful
array of everyday necessities, food provisions and specialty items.
From general grocery staples and frozen foods to meats, beverages
and gourmet selections, residents can pick up needed items on the
way home or stock their pantry for a week of meals. Diners can
enjoy hearty country breakfast items, and for lunch, a delightful
variety of made-to-order sandwiches, salads, fresh baked pizza,
burgers, beverages, beer selections and much more.
