Hampton Lake Builder Receives LightHouse Awards
Three David Weekley homes in the Hampton Lake community in Blufton, SC, were awarded with LightHouse Awards at the 11th Annual LightHouse Award
Gala held on November 12, 2010.
LightHouse Awards are presented to members of the Hilton Head Area Home
Builders Association for the demonstration of quality craftsmanship and design
excellence in the construction of homes throughout the Lowcountry. A panel of
building industry professionals, all from outside the Beaufort County market, judges
each of the entries in person. Judging is based on craftsmanship, demonstrated
excellence and use of materials throughout the home.
“This is the third year in a row that builders in Hampton Lake have been
recognized by the LightHouse Awards committee, and each time we’re honored,” said
Gerrit Albert, President of Hampton Lake. “The David Weekley homes have done
exceptionally well within our community, and it’s nice to see them recognized for
their quality craftsmanship by a distinguished panel of homebuilding professionals.”
Hampton Lake is a private lake community comprising more than 900 acres.
The community is a Reed Development project with 165-acres of freshwater lake

and nature in a fun way, Hampton Lake offers open spaces, miles of trails
and boardwalks, activity centers, pools, beaches, dining and parks, all uniquely
intertwined and interconnected.
Additionally, the National Home Builders Association honored Hampton Lake
by naming it “Best Community in America.” Its Lakeside Village was also selected
