Record snowfall and frigid temperatures this past winter motivated thousands of people to attend recent Ideal-LIVING Expos in search of a warmer place to vacation or retire. Nearly 10,000 people attended Ideal-LIVING Resort & Retirement Expos hosted in
northeast and midwest metros this past January and February.
Findings from the Visitor Lifestyle Questionnaire indicated that the most important
reasons to relocate or purchase property elsewhere were milder winter weather along with
lower income and property taxes. States of high interest included Florida, North Carolina
and South Carolina. Other areas of significant interest were Tennessee, Georgia, Virginia
and international destinations. Proximity to the coast or a lake was an important geographic consideration. An ideal location would include a gated/private community with
nearby shopping and fine dining while accessible for travel. Respondents also noted the
following lifestyle interests: walking trails, bicycling, beach going and golf.
Spring is now here. It’s a time of change, new life, and dynamic growth. Daylight increases, temperatures warm up while flora and fauna emerge.
It’s also a great time to get out and about, travel and enjoy the warmth of spring, which
can vary 20 degrees or more depending upon where you live. Why not accelerate your
thaw with a trip to somewhere sunny and warm? This issue of Ideal-LIVING highlights
discovery travel getaways to fine resort and retirement communities that let you explore
and experience their warm friendly lifestyles.
This spring, take advantage of discovery travel—discover your ideal place and start
your ideal lifestyle. I-L
