West Palm Beach
If Palm Beach is where the rich and famous gather
amongst “glitz and glamour,” West Palm Beach on
the other side of the Intracoastal Waterway represents
a more “normal” lifestyle. To be sure, though less
swanky than its sister city across the bridge, West
Palm Beach, is every bit as lively and desirable.
With its vibrant new CityPlace shopping and dining
center, dozens of gorgeous golf and resort-style
communities, and historic Clematis Street, one of
15 designated historic districts in the city, West Palm
Beach has a historic and hip character unique to most
urban places.
Boca Raton
Boca Raton is in the heart of Florida’s Gold Coast,
a comprehensively developed stretch of coastline
between Palm Beach and Miami. One of the world’s
most affluent communities, it’s built on the base of
operations for high-tech industries, several leading
universities, and dozens of private golf and country
club communities. Made famous by famed architect
Addison Mizner during Florida’s great land boom
of the mid-to-late 1920s as an alternative to Palm
Beach, Mizner’s Mediterranean-styled architecture is
still preserved throughout the city of nearly 90,000
people.
Fort Lauderdale
Sometimes called the Venice of America, Florida
is famous for its beaches and boating, arts, and
entertainment. And did we say more boating, indeed,
with the world’s second-largest cruise ship port and a
marvelous marina for yacht and boating enthusiasts,
Fort Lauderdale is one of the finest urban beach
communities, from shopping and dining on Las
Olas Boulevard to gondola rides on the canals to a
historic riverfront stroll. One popular experience is the
narrated 90-minute amphibious tour of quaint Las Olas
Boulevard, historical districts, and the mansions and
yachts dotting Millionaires Row.
Sunrise
Due west from Fort Lauderdale is one of the
faster-growing places to live and play. Originally
incorporated in 1961 as the town of Sunset, early
residents and developers felt the name didn’t capture
the “life” of its retiree clientele so the name was
changed. Today, there’s no sun setting on a city
that now numbers 90,714 people of all walks of life.
And some of the main attractions to Sunrise are the
world-class shopping and entertainment brought on
by Sawgrass Mills and the city’s BB&T Center, which
plays host to the National Hockey League’s Florida
Panthers and many world-class entertainers.
LakePark at Tradition
Canadian homebuilder and developer Minto
Communities Florida recently opened six new
model homes in LakePark at Tradition, another
reason why this popular Port St. Lucie community
is one of the top master-planned communities in
the country.
Artesia
Minto Communities is now selling the final
phase of this Sunrise development. Featuring
a contemporary blend of urban, suburban,
and resort lifestyles, Minto’s new Sky Villas,
Courtyard and Terrace Homes range from the
mid-$300s to $500s.
